Welcome to Browns Bay
Choose from a range of high street retailers, restaurants, casual eateries and cafés in a uniquely beautiful, friendly and relaxed seaside setting. Browns Bay wouldn’t be the quintessential seaside town that it is without its great selection of ice cream shops which regularly bring visitors from the other side of Auckland for their ice-cream fix. Enjoy award-winning, tantalising flavours of ice-cream, gelato and frozen yoghurt, as well as an assortment of irresistible desserts.
You might even get inspired by the beat of the music at beachfront free aerobics sessions and boot camps in the Summertime. Watch out… it’s catchy!

The Taupua Experience
The Taupua Experience operates Maori Cultural Auckland City Tours including all the main city highlights, plus sites of cultural significance to Maori. All tours are run in small groups, in comfortable modern mini-buses. Your hosts are direct descendants of the original Maori Chiefs that helped to establish Auckland City (Tamaki Makaurau).

Browns Bay Beach
Manly Esplanade, Browns Bay, Auckland
Playground beside the beach, nice calm water for the kids, and a grassy frontage for those that don’t like to sit on the sand. Plenty of places nearby for lunch.
After shopping and refreshments, wander across the road to the beach, check out the ocean, feel the sand between your toes (or enjoy the beautiful grassy reserve if you’re not keen on sand), people-watch, collect shells, lie back and spy shapes in the clouds. Just relax while the kids enjoy playing at the ocean-inspired adventure playground right on the beachfront, or expend some energy at the adjacent skatepark

Browns Bay Heritage Walk
Browns Bay is lucky enough to have a vast amount of history available to be seen within its community. Whether you are a local who would like to get to know your area’s history, or a visitor interested in how Browns Bay developed into what it is today, this heritage trail is a great way to spend an afternoon.
Phoenix Plaza
Browns Bay Mall is also known as Phoenix Plaza. Four Phoenix Palms define this area connecting the shops on Inverness and Clyde Roads to Beachfront Lane.
Coffee enthusiasts are spoilt for choice with over 30 fabulous cafés and restaurants in the town centre. Some are on the beachfront with (heated) al fresco dining, and many accommodate furry four-legged friends.

Boating in Browns Bay
Our seaside community is lucky enough to the Hauraki Golf right on our doorstep, providing unlimited boating and fishing opportunities for locals and visitors alike. The boat ramp is located at the northern end of the beach, just off Beach Road.
If you are keen on boating and would like to meet some like-minded individuals you should consider joining the Browns Bay Boating Club. The Boating Club is made up of families and individuals whom all share a passion for safe and enjoyable water activities centred around boating.
The Browns Bay Boating Club hosts a variety of events and competitions for members, as well as offering the use of club tractors for launching boats, this makes life a whole lot easier when trying to launch from the bay.
